Description

Delicious air fryer apple fries made with your choice of apples, lightly sweetened and spiced for a perfect snack.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium apples (Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji, or Granny Smith)
  • 12 tablespoons melted coconut oil (or avocado oil, melted butter, or ghee)
  • 12 tablespoons granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
  • Pinch of allspice (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch or all-purpose flour (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by washing your apples thoroughly. Then, using a vegetable peeler, carefully peel the skin from each apple. Once peeled, core the apples and slice them into uniform ‘fry’ shapes, about 1/2 inch thick and roughly 3-4 inches long.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for at least 3-5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine your sliced apples with the melted coconut oil (or your chosen fat). Toss gently until the apple slices are lightly coated. Next, sprinkle in the granulated sugar (or brown sugar), cinnamon, and any other desired spices like nutmeg or allspice. If using, add the cornstarch or flour now. Toss everything together really well.
  4. Carefully place the seasoned apple fries in a single layer in your preheated air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding the basket.
  5. Air fry the apple fries for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the fries with tongs halfway through the cooking time. Keep a close eye on them during the last few minutes.
  6. Once they’ve reached your desired crispiness, carefully remove the apple fries from the air fryer basket. They are best served warm, right out of the air fryer!

  • These apple fries are best enjoyed immediately but can be stored in an airtight container for a short time.
