A delicious apple cinnamon dish using fresh apples and warm spices.

- 3–4 medium firm apples (e.g., Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji)
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract (non-alcoholic if preferred)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp light brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1–2 tsp neutral oil or cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples, then toss with lemon juice in a bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and vanilla extract together.
- Add the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Fold in the sliced apples until evenly coated.
- Grease a baking dish with cooking spray or oil, then pour the mixture in, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter dish, adjust sugar to taste.
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
