Description

A delicious peach cobbler made with fresh or frozen peaches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces frozen peaches (or 2 cups fresh sliced or 2 (14 ounce) cans)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Set the oven to preheat at 375 degrees F.
  2. Put the butter into your cast iron skillet and put it in the oven to melt.
  3. While the butter is melting, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Stir well.
  4. Pour in the milk and stir to mix everything into a thick batter. Don’t over mix.
  5. Take the skillet out of the oven. Put the batter on top of the melted butter. Don’t mix it in, just put spoonfuls of the batter around the skillet.
  6. Put the peaches on top of the batter. Spread them out over the skillet, but leave them on top and don’t mix them in.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees F for 35 minutes. The cobbler is done when it is golden brown on top and the middle is mostly firm.
