Description

This lemon sauce is perfect for desserts or as a topping for pancakes and waffles.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar and cornstarch in a small saucepan.
  2. Gradually, stir in the water.
  3. Cook over medium heat, constantly stirring until the mixture thickens and boils.
  4. Boil and stir for 1 minute.
  5. Remove from the heat.
  6. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
  7. Serve warm or cool.
  8. Cover and refrigerate any remaining sauce.
